Publications


The General Union is active in issuing publications on economic development and regional cooperation and integration in the Arab countries. The Research Department publishes many specialized books and articles pertaining to economic development and relations. The Union also publishes a monthly magazine “Al Omran Al-Arabi” which is specialized in the events and developments that concern the Arab business community.


Periodicals

  • Al Omran Al-Arabi Magazine (Arabic) Specialized in the events and developments that concern the Arab business community. Issued monthly. Annual subscription: $100 for individuals / 150$ for institutions
  • Awraq Iktissadiya, Economic Papers (Arabic) A periodical for specialized studies and articles on issues of Arab economic development and regional and international developments and their interactions with the Arab region. Total publications are 16 issues, with the first one published in January 1984 and the last one in January 2002.

  • Greater Arab Free Trade Area (Arabic). "Requirements to activate the role of private sector and coordination in view of Subsidies and Countervailing Measures". Report No. 12. An annual report presented to the meeting of the "Committee of Execution and Follow up" in the frame work of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League which was held in Sanaa on 12-13 Feb. 2005.   • Annual Report of the Secretary General of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture for Arab Countries (Arabic). An annual report that analyzes the developments and trends in the Arab economies. Issued annually since 1995.
  •  Joint Arab-Foreign Chambers of Commerce (Arabic). An annual report that covers the activities of the Joint Arab-Foreign Chambers of Commerce. Issued annually since 1993.

  • The Arab Economic Report (English). Edition No. (1) was published in October 1962 and the last one, No. (14), was published in October 2003.
  • Joint Arab-Foreign Chambers of Commerce (Arabic). It is a guide to the Joint Arab-Foreign Chambers of Commerce. Issued for the first time in 1987, a second time in 1993 and for a third time in 2003.

  • Economic Studies (Arabic) Complete studies presented to the General Conference of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries. 8 editions covering the 8 conferences that were held in Doha in 1981, in Khartoum in 1983, in Amman in 1984, in Damascus in 1988, in Abu Dhabi in 1989, in Doha in 1994, in Cairo in 1997, and in Amman in 1998.
  • Conference of Arab Businessmen and Investors (Arabic) The complete proceedings of this biannual conference which is jointly organized by the General Union, the League of Arab States and the Inter-Arab Investment Guarantee Corporation. Published in 10 Volumes covering the proceedings of the 1st conference held in Ta’if in Saudi Arabia in 1982, the 2nd conference held in Casa Blanca in Morocco in 1983, the 3rd conference held in Kuwait in 1986, the 4th conference held in Tunisia in 1988, the 5th conference held in Damascus in 1993, the 6th conference held in Alexandria in 1995, the 7th conference held in Beirut in 1997, the 8th conference held in Tunis in 1999, the 9th conference held in Dubai in 2001 and the 10th conference held in Algiers 2003.
